You can benefit in a number of ways by adding massage therapy to your
Chiropractic Care program. Chiropractic and Massage Therapy, used
in combination, form a powerful healing approach that addresses your
pain on many levels. Recovery is normally faster and more complete
when you address multiple components of your pain.
Chiropractic treatment often proceeds more easily when soft tissue
has been relaxed with massage. You may be less anxious and more ready
to receive chiropractic adjustments after a relaxing massage. Adjustments
frequently last longer when muscle tension is released that might
otherwise pull your joints out of alignment again.
We offer several types of massage incorporated with aromatherapy which
focus on your specific needs. Our in-house massage therapist can help
you decide which of the following is right for you.
Swedish Massage - utilizes long, flowing strokes as it has
a calming effect when performed slowly. Oil, cream, or lotion is applied
to the skin to reduce friction and allow smooth strokes. Swedish massage
has shown to be helpful in reducing pain and joint stiffness.
Deep Tissue Massage - is generally designed for more focused
massage work. Working a specific joint, muscle or muscle group, one
can access deeper layers of the soft tissue. Starting superficially
and easing into the depth of the muscle slowly often allows more movement.
Myofacial Massage - is a type of soft tissue massage
which incorporates stretching and massage of the connective tissues,
or fascia. This particular method became popular when patients realized
the potential for pain management and increased flexibility.
