Pediatric Chiropractic in Shrewsbury

Monmouth County Chiropractic For Infants & Children

Most people do not realize that infants and children are just as much in need of chiropractic care as adults. Infants, in particular, are susceptible to a wide range of possible ailments related to slow or traumatic birth and c-sections.

Misalignments or subluxations put pressure on the delicate spinal nerves and interfere with the body’s ability to coordinate and control all phases of growth and development. Chiropractic for infants and children can help correct these potential problems through careful yet effective adjustments to remedy misalignments as they are identified.

Children particularly need pediatric chiropractic care as they age because a lot of the problems we experience as adults actually come from our childhood – either because we fell (think about how many times a day a baby falls when they are learning to walk, sometimes 10-20 times per day), broke something, or simply had poor posture (which is extremely common today).

Posture problems particularly result from spending many hours in front of a computer or television, or playing rough, or carrying backpacks all day long at school.

It is best to deal with any potential injury, misalignment, postural problem or other ailment and condition as soon as possible when it is identified. After all, the nervous system controls and coordinates every stage of growth and development; you should want to keep your child’s nervous system as healthy as possible through regular treatment.

Colic

newbornNewborns are prone to spinal misalignment’s during birth, especially babies born via C-section. These misalignment’s  can cause problems with the nervous and digestive system.

Ineffective digestion of breast milk or formula can cause major discomfort for you baby leading to colic. Our safe and gentle adjustments can restore normal function and help you and your baby find soothing relief.

ADD/ ADHD

pediatric-chiropracticCommonly over diagnosed and often overmedicated, the symptoms of ADD and ADHD can often be treated less invasively via chiropractic care and nutritional lifestyle changes. Symptoms can include hyperactivity, difficulty sitting still, impulsive thoughts and behaviors and children being easily distracted.

Our chiropractors will work to find and eliminate any subluxations in the spine to ensure that the nervous system is working optimally for the brain to send and receive messages effectively.  We will also suggest nutritional and dietary changes that should be made. We often see improvement with the reduction or elimination of fast food, processed foods, food dyes, preservatives, sugars and artificial sweeteners. Proper nutrition along with chiropractic can go a long way in improving your child’s health.

Ear Infections

Childhood ear infections can occur for many reasons such as a lowered immune system, allergies or trauma during birth. When treating ear infections chiropractors will perform adjustments to the neck, skull, jaw and cervical spine. This both improve the quality of nerve signals to and from the brain and allows fluid to properly move and drain. Changes in your child’s diet may also be recommended.

Bed Wetting

 Safe and Drug-Free

If your child has colic, ear aches, rashes, sleeping problems, or behavior issues, their body is telling you that something is out of balance and not working right. You have the choice of either medicating that symptom or finding out what is causing the problem. At Champion Chiropractic infants, toddlers and children can all be safely adjusted.
